"In the early hours of last night, revered, greatly admired, well-loved Hand of the Cause of God Dr. ‘Ali-Muhammad Varqa departed this earthly plane after a period of outstanding, consecrated service to the Blessed Beauty that spanned many decades."

this is the end of an era in Baha'i history: Dr. Varqa was the last "Hand of the Cause of God"---a title denoting great sacrifice, loving-kindness, wisdom, integrity and generosity in service to humanity on the part of its bearer.



He was the grandson of Mírzá `Alí-Muhammad Varqá, who was martyred in Iran in 1896 for his Baha'i faith.

with my love, respect, and grief, i will forever remember the eloquent calm, sweetness, and gentleness of his presence, and i will remember the knowledge, history, and patience of this servant of God. i will remember being humbled by his kindness.
