tom's of maine bought/sold out

i think this is kind of sad. colgate/palmolive is fairly unavoidable in the cosmopolitan world of toiletries and cosmetics-type products, and they are AVoided by veggos and vegans because they practice vivisection, if i remember correctly without doing mandatory search-engine research.

they are also a company with monopolising tendencies, as evidenced by this recent takeover of Tom's of Maine, which is a favo with americans who don't like to brush their teeth with sugar, among other things. one of my sisters-in-law openly proclaims a dental-hygeine obsession, and i know that her sampling of Tom's toothpaste flavours might be sharply curtailed if C/P gets their saccharine little mitts on them.

alisha, you have been warned. jelly, thank you for the heads-up.
